Salvador Haro González

Salvador Haro González

Professor, University of Málaga

Dílar, Granada, 1968. PhD in Fine Arts from the University of Granada (2003). He has been Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Málaga. Obtained the Pablo Ruiz Picasso Research Award, granted by Picasso Foundation – Birthplace museum (2005). Author of numerous articles and monographs, highlighting Painting and Creation in Pablo Picasso's Ceramics (2007).

He has curated exhibitions in national and international museums on Picasso, artist's books, and engraving. He has written in catalogs for the Louvre Museum, Picasso Museums in Málaga, Barcelona and Paris, Cyprus Museum, Réunion des Musées nationaux de France, Louisiana Museum (Denmark), Cercle Cité (Luxemburgo), Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche Faenza, MuCEM Marseille, MGEC Marbella, Kennedy Center Washington, Sèvres-cité de la céramique, Picasso Foundation Málaga, Círculo Bellas Artes Madrid, among others.

Since 1989 he has held about fifteen individual exhibitions and participated in a hundred collective exhibitions in Spain and other countries. Works in various public and private collections.

Juan Aguilar Jiménez (1968) PhD in Fine Arts from the University of Málaga.

Professor and researcher at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Málaga. Promoter of the academic project Createvilab and Director of the Ikea Training Chair. Director of I+Diseño (International Journal of Research, Innovation and Development in Design) of the UMA editorial. Exhibition curator and consultant on creative strategies and design methodologies. Co-director of the educational project El Intercambiador Express, a design culture magazine developed among professionals, teachers, institutions, and students. A project recognized with national and international awards in student and professional categories.

He has been president of the aad (Andalusian Association of Designers) and READ (Spanish Network of Design Associations), leading projects such as the creation of the Andalusia Design Awards and the organization of the III and IV ENAD (National Meetings of Design Associations).

Founder and director of Estación Diseño (School of Design) from 2011 to 2020 and mentor for the incorporation of design thinking methodologies at Andalucía Emprende (Andalusian Public Foundation).

Member of the Board of Trustees of the Manolo Prieto Foundation and author of Lo que cuenta Novelas y Cuentos (publication of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, the Manolo Prieto Foundation and Experimenta Editorial) and Más que un toro. Manolo Prieto diseñador del siglo XX (edited by Experimenta Editorial and the Manolo Prieto Foundation, with the support of the Ministry of Culture).

Priego de Córdoba, 1978. PhD in Fine Arts from the University of Granada (2007). Associate Professor (Contracted Doctor LOU) at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Málaga.

Her research focuses on contemporary drawing, gender studies, and new visual languages. She has participated in numerous research projects, with more than thirty contributions to scientific conferences and twenty publications in specialized books and journals.

Among her latest publications are the monograph La transversalidad de la perspectiva de género en la docencia. Reflexiones transdisciplinares (Ediciones Tero, 2023) and Del género en la crítica de arte a la cultura mainstream: un análisis postfeminista de Rosalía y Bad Gyal (Editorial Dykinson, 2024).

She combines teaching and research with artistic creation and curating, having participated in individual and collective exhibitions within and outside the university environment.

Áurea Muñoz del Amo

Áurea Muñoz del Amo

Tenured Professor, University of Seville

Badajoz, 1980. Graduate and PhD in Fine Arts. Tenured Professor in the Department of Drawing at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Seville.

Her teaching, artistic, and research work is closely linked to the field of contemporary graphics and the construction of creative discourse through drawing, printing procedures, and new image technologies. Responsible for the research group “Graphics and Digital Creation” (HUM822), she has been co-PI of the R+D+i Project ASTER: Promoting Art–Science–Technology-Engineering Research By Using Collaborative Methodologies And Tools.

She has carried out research stays in different European countries (United Kingdom, Italy, Finland, Netherlands, Belgium), participating in multiple exhibitions and artistic projects, both individual and collective. She has received, among others, the "Fundación Pilar Banús" Award, in the XV National Engraving Awards convened by the Foundation of the Museum of Spanish Contemporary Engraving of Marbella.

Rocío Sacristán Cuadrón

Rocío Sacristán Cuadrón

Associate Professor (Contracted Doctor), University of Málaga.

PhD in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid (1999). Her teaching work takes place at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Málaga, where she teaches subjects related to the fundamentals and processes of painting, the production and dissemination of artistic projects, and the professionalization of the contemporary artist. She actively participates in academic coordination and in the tutoring of advanced research work within the doctoral program.

Her pedagogical work promotes a critical understanding of pictorial processes, encouraging students to place their work in dialogue with contemporary art debates. As a researcher and artist, she approaches painting from an analytical perspective that combines scientific knowledge and aesthetic sensitivity, understanding "making" as a space of thought where experimentation with materials is a form of knowledge.

As a painter, she has held numerous individual and collective exhibitions both in Spain and abroad, and her career has been recognized with seven national painting awards. She has contributed to various publications on educational innovation, artistic techniques, and analysis of contemporary pictorial practice.

Málaga, 1967. PhD in Fine Arts from the University of Granada. Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts Málaga, Painting Area, painting and engraving subjects. Teacher and coordinator of courses such as Genio y materia: los linóleos de Picasso en la práctica, I Specialization Course in Contemporary Sustainable Engraving on Copper and Zinc or Research on Art: Writing and Publication.

His research work in the field of Art has focused since his doctoral thesis on the figure of Pablo Picasso, protagonist of scientific and informative articles and exhibitions (Viñetas en el Frente, Dibujantes con París al fondo. Picasso y las revistas ilustradas, Picasso, pintor de grabados. El aguatinta).

In the field of engraving, to his artistic activity are added publications and conferences on history, theory, and pedagogy in Higher Education together with participation in Teaching Innovation Projects from 2013 to the present.


Miguel Alcaide Bautista

Multidisciplinary artist with technical training in image, sound, and computer systems. He has developed work in the audiovisual field as a lighter in short films and music videos. Since 2022, he collaborates professionally at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Málaga, where he participates in the creative and technical environment of academic and artistic projects.


Antonio Cañete González

Algeciras, 1966. Multidisciplinary artist and technician of the Printing laboratory at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Málaga. His training combines studies in Applied Arts at the School of Arts of Algeciras with a Degree in Fine Arts from the Complutense University and the University of Málaga. Finally, extraordinary award of the Master's Degree in Interdisciplinary Artistic Production, by the University of Málaga.

He has participated in numerous collective and individual exhibitions, highlighting his presence at the Picasso Museum Málaga, the UMA Rectorate, the Botanical Garden of Málaga, and international centers such as Liverpool John Moores University. His work is characterized by contemporary graphic research, with techniques ranging from digital woodcut to intervention on paper.


Eugenio Rivas Herencia

Córdoba, 1982. PhD from the University of Granada (2012). Associate professor in the Department of Art and Architecture at the University of Málaga since 2016. He has participated in numerous conferences on contemporary art and has published texts with significant contributions in scientific journals, exhibition catalogs, and congresses. He has curated exhibitions and taught workshops for various museums and cultural institutions.

He is part of the research group HUM 246 Culture of Diversity and School, as well as several research journals and various Institutes of Art and Education. He has been part of the work team of the project P20_00306 Pyrrhonian-Empirical Skepticism and Academic Skepticism in its Historical Development (EPADMECO), of the group HUM-367 of the University of Córdoba, Ramón Román (PI), Andalusian Research Plan 2020-2022.

Among his contributions highlights an extensive artistic production with more than a hundred collective and individual exhibitions with national and international impact. He has received important recognitions and grants for creation and research. His work is part of numerous private and institutional collections. He has directed Artefacto Social, a collective creation project for social transformation. Currently coordinates Desordenar lo Ordenado. Jornadas Arte, Educación y Acción Sociocultural and the Platform of Sociocultural Action Surtopías (www.surtopías.org).

Ávila, 1979. Degree in Advertising and Public Relations from the Complutense University of Madrid (2002), completed the Master of Drawing, Creation, Production and Diffusion and is currently carrying out the PhD Program in History and Arts at the University of Granada.

Professionally, she has worked as an art director and creative director in the advertising and graphic design sector and, since 2010, she is a teacher in the Graphic Design Degree Teachings at the José Val del Omar School of Art and Higher Design of Granada.

Jorge Montalbán Blanco

Jorge Montalbán Blanco

PhD Student, University of Málaga

Málaga, 1994. PhD Student in the PhD Program in Fine Arts and Design at the University of Málaga. Graduate in Fine Arts from the same university (2017), he has completed the Master in Art Direction for Film, Television and New Media at the University School of Arts TAI (Madrid, 2019) and the Master in Interdisciplinary Artistic Production at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Málaga (2024). His trajectory articulates between artistic practice, audiovisual art direction, and jewelry design. He has directed the art department in numerous short films, feature films, music videos, and advertising campaigns, collaborating with brands such as Sony Music Spain, Universal Music Spain, Nike, or Adidas. As an artist he has participated in multiple individual and collective exhibitions, and has also curated exhibition projects. His production focuses on the relationships between memory, territory, and language, mainly using media such as sculpture, installation, and video creation. His works are part of public and private collections. Since 2024 he is part of the creative team of the jewelry firm Kuurth as a designer. His current research focuses on the links between art, territory, memory, and the jewel object.
